VT Two-Factor Authentication
What is two-factor authentication?
- This is an added layer of security to our already secure HMIS system.
- It requires HMIS users to access an e-mail passcode or use an authenticator application on their work devise.
- The two-factor authentication can be set up to produce a code every single time an HMIS User signs into their account or it can be set up to accept a trusted device.
What is a Trusted Device?
- A trusted device is your work computer or laptop that you use to access HMIS.
- A trusted device is connected to a secure internet connection.
- A trust device has a password protected screen saver that only you know the password to.
- A trusted device is not a shared work computer; it is not a public use computer; and, it is not a device connected to an unsecure internet connection.
