VT HOP Emergency Shelter / Transitional Housing and Essential Services
In Vermont, most Emergency Shelters are funded by the Vermont Department of Children and Families Office of Economic Opportunity Housing Opportunity Grant Program (HOP). Three of the project types this grant supports is Emergency Shelter (Year-round and Seasonal operation), Transitional Housing and Essential Services.
Many of the Emergency Shelter or Transitional Housing models automatically include Essential Services although there are some Emergency Shelters that do not receive Essential Services and some Essential Services programs that are not attached to a HOP - funded Emergency Shelter program.
The following guidance is applicable for all HOP funded Emergency Shelters (Entry / Exit or Night-by-Night) / Transitional Housing and / or Essential Services programs.
