Creating a New Client

  1. Search for the client first to ensure that they do not already exist in the system.
  2. Once potential search combinations are exhausted, and you are confident the client is NEW to HMIS, you may proceed with creating a new client file by clicking Add Client.

The next screen has a series of prompts, all of which must be answered before clicking Add Record. These are HUD required fields and with limited exceptions these values should be known and fully documented for all clients.

3. After this information has been entered it will appear under the Profile tab in the client’s HMIS file.
