VT Homeless Mortality Project

The Vermont Homeless Mortality Project began during the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic. Homeless Services providers were experiencing what they felt like was a higher-than-normal rate of mortality among the clients they were serving.

The Vermont ICA team, with a lot of support from the extended Reporting Team started looking into what data we had available in HMIS. We quickly realized the information was limited and so we began to work with Vermont Department of Health, Vital Records.

The relationship with Vital Records has allowed us to expand our work and provide a deeper analysis of the data, which can be read below.
