VA / SSVF Funded

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) is a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program that promotes housing stability among low-income Veteran households who are experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Within HMIS, SSVF-funded programs use the system to document client enrollment, services provided, financial assistance, housing outcomes, and other data elements required by the VA and local Continuum of Care (CoC).

SSVF programs provide a range of housing-focused services designed to prevent and end Veteran homelessness, including:

Housing search and placement assistance
Case management and supportive services
Temporary financial assistance for rent, utilities, security deposits, and other housing-related costs
Assistance accessing VA benefits and community resources
Connections to healthcare, employment, and income supports

HMIS serves as the primary system for tracking participant engagement, service delivery, and housing outcomes. Accurate and timely data entry ensures compliance with VA reporting requirements and supports efforts to evaluate program effectiveness.
